H07RN-F is the standard heavy-duty rubber flexible cable: ethylene propylene rubber insulation under a tough polychloroprene sheath. The rubber construction tolerates knocks, water, oils and sunlight far better than PVC, and recovers its shape rather than taking a permanent set, which is why it is used for anything that moves or sits outdoors. At 450/750 V it is suited to three-phase plant as well as single-phase equipment.
Key applications
- Portable and mobile plant, hoists and compressors
- Site distribution and generator tails
- Submersible and sump pump supplies
- Welding sets, grinders and workshop machinery
- Agricultural and marine deck equipment
- Supplies to equipment exposed to weather or wash-down
Features and benefits
- EPR/PCP construction resists oils, water, ozone and sunlight
- Rated 450/750 V, so usable on 400 V three-phase supplies
- Keeps its flexibility across a wide temperature range
- Good abrasion and tear resistance for dragged or coiled use
Specification notes and limitations
H07RN-F is a flexible cable and must not be used as fixed wiring, buried direct in the ground, or embedded in building fabric. It is weather resistant but not designed for permanent immersion unless the manufacturer specifically states so, and prolonged contact with petrol, strong solvents or aggressive chemicals will attack the sheath. Observe the manufacturer's bending radius — commonly four times the overall diameter for a fixed bend and substantially more where the cable flexes repeatedly — and never pull on the cable to move plant; use a proper strain relief or clamp. Derate for ambient temperature and for cables coiled on a drum, because a coiled cable cannot shed heat.
